TANKS
Tanks come in various sizes, shapes and colours. This depends on the manufacturer. Vertical tanks are well priced and are round in appearance. Vertical tanks take up space so are used where there are no space restrictions.
Slimline tanks are used in complexes or where space is limited. Slimline tanks are more expensive than the vertical range as they are manufactured with a different mold.
PUMPS
There are many brands of pumps and different pumps are specified for different applications. When specifying a pump. The following must be taken into consideration.
1) What is the head height of the pump? (How high does the pump need to pump the water)
2)How many outlets will the pump have to supply? (If supplying a hotel with many rooms, the system will be completely different than if supplying a domestic home.)
3) Does the client have solar? If the dwelling has a solar system. It is recommended a solar friendly Variable Speed Drive (VSD) is used. A VSD tends not to spike the power like any other pump, which drains the solar batteries much faster. A VSD is almost silent which is needed in complexes where neighbors are in close proximity.
